Starting the day off well is a powerful strategy for self-renewal and personal effectiveness.

ONE-MINUTE WISDOM

Forgiveness is a spiritual practice and action. If we cannot forgive ourselves, how can we truly forgive others? Forgiving others can be the first action in forgiving ourselves. Be willing to forgive. It will set you free.

FORGIVENESS AND RELEASING RESENTMENTS

Forgiveness is defined as the action or process of ceasing to feel angry or resentful towards someone for an offense, flaw, or mistake. Resentment is defined as bitter indignation at having been treated unfairly.

The emotions of resentment, anger are important emotions. They are viable and important to help one determine the correct action. They are also tricky emotions because, without specific attention anger, resentment can become the only thing one expresses. It is so easy to get stuck in resentment. Forgiveness can be a difficult practice to cultivate. Forgiveness is accepting what happened and continuously letting go of past hurts and resentments. Forgiveness requires hard work and time. In order to regain a healthy viewpoint, one must never be forced into forgiveness. Forgiveness and the release of resentment are highly personal. Sorting through these tough emotions is something that must be done in order to spiritually grow.

VEGAN PUMPKIN SPICE OATMEAL

Vegan Pumpkin Spice Oatmeal
Cook Time: 5 mins
Total Time: 5 mins

Ingredients
1 cup non-dairy milk (plus more for serving)
2/3 cup large flake rolled oats
1/3 cup pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
1/4 cup dates, pitted and chopped
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice.
1 tablespoon maple syrup (optional)
A handful of pecans (optional)

Instructions
Add everything except for the maple syrup and pecans to a pot and put over medium heat. Stir and cook for about 5 minutes until the oatmeal has thickened and most of the liquid is absorbed

DAILY EXERCISE
Working with Forgiveness and Releasing Resentment

Make a list of everyone or every situation that you feel that you need to forgive. Be very clear and concise in the list. Now take a moment to ask the universe or higher power to aid you to release any resentment. Ask the higher power for assistance to see exactly what you can learn from the hurtful situations. Work daily on this. Begin to visualize a strong showering of compassion all around and inside of you.

In time you will begin to feel a burden lifting from you.
