UNDERSTANDING AND ACCEPTANCE
Understanding is defined as perceiving the intended meaning of words, actions and perceiving the intention of someone. Acceptance is defined as the action of consenting to receive or undertake something offered.
Understanding involves a willingness to be present. We must be willing to accept something as it is and not alter it to truly understand it. If we are in the presence of something
that is challenging to us in any way we then tend to not perceive it. We become unwilling to understand it. This makes acceptance even more difficult. Living life without understanding and acceptance can be unbearable.
We must all work to understand and accept our loved ones and accept ourselves. We must work extra hard to understand and accept people who feel we are “different”. It is this understanding, which we can then, foster and develops acceptance of others.
Ultimately the understanding and acceptance of others really mean we are accepting and understanding ourselves.
