Dear Friends,
Standing in the uncertain. Fear tries to knock you down but you can get up again. Fear is paralyzing. Are you stuck? Let’s get moving. Don’t wait another minute. Be brave. Have courage. Create confidence. Shift fear into love. Old systems and paradigms have to break down before they can be replaced. The breakdown is the precursor of a breakthrough. The darkest time is just before dawn. We can each contribute to accelerating this transformation by choosing love and confidence. After all, the only thing that’s certain is the uncertainty of the present moment. To be able to stand patiently in that, we need compassion, patience, resilience, and the understanding of ourselves and all others. Now is the perfect time to reassess your priorities. Here’s what I believe: with lives and lifestyles around the world being affected, the one thing we can count on to pull us through is love.
Thank you for doing your part to keep yourself and loved ones healthy and safe during this crisis.
Love and appreciation,
Gary

ONE-MINUTE WISDOM
Most of us have experienced the ability to accomplish more than we thought we could, but this is only part of the possibilities that await us. The other part of the “doing” calls on us to trust that we have help from the entire universe.

THE POWER OF MEDITATION
Often the only reason people are unhappy or disharmonious in their personal relations and/or in career is more about the resistance to a circumstance which they find themselves in, rather than the circumstance itself. In the same way, a lifeguard advises that you swim with the riptide instead of against it, the Universe wants you to accept this moment. Itʼs a gift. Ultimately if you understand that the Universe is conspiring to make you happy, you will begin to view all things, that is, all problems and opportunities as gifts.
The dictionary defines harmony as, “accord, agreement, and peace”. In order to attain inner peace, your thoughts and vision must be aligned with your actions. What does that mean? It means that you are responsible for what you think. If you are feeling in dis-accord, start by saying “yes” to anything that presents itself. Does that mean negative situations? Absolutely not – I think we all know the difference. Still, the Universe sends you exactly what you call in and/or what you need. How then do you find your own inner harmony? The answer: You must first learn to recognize what harmony is for you. Next, start to recognize when you are receiving offers and gifts from the Universe that will put you more in alignment with your best self. And then just simply say, “yes.” For instance, if you have been thinking about opening a book shop for many years and have never gone after it and then suddenly someone offers you a bookstore manager position, your first inclination might be to decline the offer. You might think things like, “I am overqualified,” or “I donʼt want to work for someone elseʼs book store.” And that may be true. But maybe if you stay open to the “yes” of it, there is another way to view the opportunity. Maybe it showed up to teach you how to run a bookstore. Or maybe the Universe wants you to be there so you can learn how to do it better. Quite possibly it showed up to reignite your passion that at the moment you havenʼt been pursuing. Because passion without action can become – not always – inertia. And then, we are out of alignment and typically not at peace. If you want inner harmony, start first by saying “yes” to your life.

TUNERIC: The Spice of Life
There are just a few plants deserving of the honored title of “Super Food”. Turmeric is certainly one of them. The broad range of proven health benefits is impressive. There is an excellent reason that people in India and many other countries consume turmeric in their food and beverages every day—it keeps them healthy! Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is the spice that gives Indian curry its yellow color. The popularity of turmeric tea may be one of the reasons that Okinawans have one of the world’s longest lifespans. Its well-deserved nickname in India is “the spice of life”.
Turmeric is a rhizome, related to ginger, that is native to Asia. It has been highly respected and valued for at least 4,000 years for its wide range of health-promoting benefits. It is the richest source of beta carotene delivering extraordinary antioxidant effects. Bright yellow-gold in color, and bitter, astringent, and pungent in taste, turmeric has a long history of delivering health benefits.
In the last decades, many scientific studies have proven what Ayurveda and Chinese medicine practitioners have been saying for millennia: Turmeric is VERY good for us.
- Supports a weight loss program by A) increasing metabolism, B) improving liver function, C) lowering LDL cholesterol, and D) reducing inflammation.
- Promotes healthy skin– historically the blood purifying effects of turmeric were shown to help promote healthy and beautiful skin, so it may support people with psoriasis, eczema, hives, and (Use caution if applying it topically–it stains.)
- Soothes and repairs the digestive system; and support, stimulate, detoxify and protect liver health and function.
- Mood elevating effects– Researchers have found that curcumin may enhance the important brain chemicals serotonin, noradrenaline, and dopamine.
- Provides anti-inflammatory effects which appear to surpass hydrocortisone–for joints, and for respiratory issues including allergies, asthma, and bronchitis
